Technical Operations Manager

Position overview:

The Technical Operations Manager ensures operational excellence through meticulous planning, execution, and oversight of all aspects of technical operations. This role includes coordinating resources, managing customer relationships, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards, and driving the efficiency and profitability of operations in line with the purpose, core values, and goals of Subsea Global Solutions.

Key responsibilities:

Operational leadership

• Oversee the preparation, execution, and closure of tasks, and ensure timely and accurate updates to systems and reports.

• Ensures that all operations comply with Subsea Global Solutions' quality, health, safety, and environmental policies.

• Monitors work schedules to ensure that sufficient personnel are available and coordinates with the warehouse manager the necessary availability of equipment.

• Manages the daily scheduling and dispatch of employees, including overseeing freelance contracts.

Customer and project management

• Acts as the primary contact for the client, taking on managing expectations and providing updates throughout the assignment's progress.

• Prepare accurate quotes and follow-ups to close opportunities efficiently.

• Ensures projects are in line with client expectations and the company's capabilities, and proactively manages changes in scope and costs.

Resource and Personnel Management

• Coordinates with project managers, dive supervisors, and third-party vendors to secure the necessary equipment and resources.

• Monitors and evaluates work performance, provides regular feedback and supports professional development.

• Maintain up-to-date diving certifications and compliance with legal standards.

Compliance and reporting

• Ensures that business records are organized and maintained for audits and regulatory reviews.

• Track non-conformities and implement corrective actions and policy updates as needed.

• Manages technical reports for timely submission to clients and relevant authorities.

Collaboration and development

• Acts as a liaison with other SGS offices for resource sharing and operational reconciliation.

• Supports the marketing team by promoting technical capabilities and success stories.

• Drives innovation and process improvements to improve productivity and safety.

Qualifications:

Education & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent operational experience.

• At least 5 years of experience in operations, logistics or technical project management.

• Experience with diving is preferred.

Skills and traits

• Excellent communication, written and organizational skills.

• Proven leadership qualities with a knack for fostering teamwork.

• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

• Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.

• The ability to perform under pressure, multitask, and deliver high-quality results.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, CRM systems, and operational software.

Other requirements

• Willingness to work flexible hours.

• Masters the Dutch language.

• Fluent in English; Additional languages are an advantage.
