OVERALL PURPOSE OF THE JOB: To ensure that equipment maintenance is effectively managed in the most cost-effective manner toeffectively support the customer experience in line with SGS Purpose and Core values.
KEY TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ensure all equipment is effectively maintained in a proactive/preventative maintenance management program.
- Enter maintenance data information into the computer system in accordance with SGS guidelines.
- Maintain the Hazardous Material Management System and documentation (MSDS, spill response, storage of dangerous materials) in accordance with regional and SGS corporate guidelines.
- Assume duties of Warehouse Manager in his/her absence.
- Manage proper storage, security, and labeling of all equipment and materials.
- Pick, pack, move, and deliver goods, materials, and SGS equipment as required.
- Perform maintenance and repairs on shop equipment; perform general shop maintenance and cleaning of the shop.
- Diagnose problems and perform major repairs on light trucks, vessels, gas and diesel engines, hydraulics, forklifts, compressors, generators, welding equipment, and various dive equipment.
- Support the overall operation of the shop, storage containers, outdoor racking, shop facilities, boats, trucks, trailers, yard, docks, and property maintenance.
- Assist in planning, directing, and maintaining an efficient shop operation; assign, inspect, and evaluate the work performance of personnel assigned to the warehouse.
- Monitor and maintain shop inventory levels and required resources.
- Manage the equipment storage, maintenance, and repair processes.
- Ensure work safety and adherence to company policy within the warehouse and all assigned properties.
- Support equipment maintenance and procurement budget; control costs associated with the shop and property.
- Operate shop equipment and machinery such as forklifts, power tools, pneumatic tools, hydraulic tools, welding tools, and any other associated equipment.
- Assist in supervising and training shop staff.
- Be willing to work overtime during weeknights and weekends as required.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Operational knowledge of dive equipment, hydraulic equipment, reciprocating equipment, vessels, and vehicles.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Strong people skills, capable of fostering a strong team environment within and between all SGS US East Coast personnel.
- Detail-oriented and a self-starter.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Valid government-issued unrestricted driver’s license for vehicles, and ability to obtain a security clearance card for entry into ports/terminals, etc.
- Willingness to work flexible hours as required.
- Present a positive and professional image of SGS in the presence of customers, co-workers, and the community.
- Must be able to legally work in the USA without restriction. Relocation costs will not be provided.
